Malik Alston - This Music Is Life

Recently, vocalist/producer/all-around-musician Malik Alston dropped is new solo album This Music Is Life on his Truth Manifest Records. Its a great journey into real Detroit soul music, and since meeting Malik years back, some of the best work I've heard from him. He assembled an all-star cast of musicians for this album many of which played along-side him this past July's Detroit CityFest, which might I add was one of my own personal highlights of the weekend. He had a Detroit legend in Allan Barnes (from Donald Byrd's Blackbyrds), along with modern Detroit favorites like Monica Blaire, Neco Redd, John Arnold, and many more taking part on this album.
